HTML 3.2 Level 1 - Creating a Basic Web Page

prerequisites

  • introduction to Windows 9x/2000/NT or Macintosh OS 6-9/X
  • very comfortable with windows, mouse, keyboard
  • comfortable editing text in documents (including Cut, Copy, Paste)
  • introduction to the internet, using a web browser, searching

nice-to-know experience

  • tagged languages

  • FTP software (if appl.)
  • presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint)

durations

Normally this course is taught in a half-day.

objectives

This introductory course helps a participant learn the specifics of HTML and the subtleties of web page design by directly coding in the HyperText Markup Language with minimal tools (e.g. Windows Notepad or Mac OS SimpleText).

Basic HTML tags are covered including ones for text formatting, image embedding, and the three common types of hyperlinking. Uploading pages and using search engines and web directories is discussed.

This course is very helpful to content developers of internet and intranet pages. It is a prerequisite for our FrontPage and Dreamweaver courses. It is immediately succeeded by HTML 3.2 Level 2.
