Instructing Experience

  • I have over seven years of experience providing advanced driver training for students with the following groups: BMW Club of Canada, BMW Club of America (Northern Ohio chapter), Ferrari Club of America, SAAB Owner's Club of Canada, trackmasters, Doncaster Race Team, Audi Quattro Club USA (North East Region), and Driving Adventures.
  • My students range from drivers with no experience on a race track or skid pad, at the very bottom of their advanced learning curve, to very experienced drivers looking for input on a track prior to a competition event.
  • I use various teaching techniques and through mutual objective setting and ongoing communication, advance the level of the student regardless of their previous experience. I place premium importance on advancement in incremental stages and maintain a high degree of safety at all times. Through this process I establish a strong level of confidence and fun with the student usually resulting in repeated requests for additional instruction at future events.
  • I also worked with the Doncaster Racing Team during their corporate sponsor thank-you events at the Mosport Driver Development Track. This involved high performance driver training for Telus and CIBC World Markets staff in the Brigestone Racing Academy Trans Ams and Camaros.
  • My students have included various police organizations, including uniformed and undercover officers, international corporations and government safety agencies.
  • I have successfully completed "instruct the instructor" sessions to train instructors for various groups, and provide a framework for the transition from advanced solo driver to instructor.
  • I instruct at the special "ladies day" schools sponsored by the SAAB Owner's Club of Canada.

    • SAAB club of Canada performance driving schools 1989-2000
    • Petro Canada Skid School 1997
  • I have been a student of driving for over 20 years and instructing for over 7 years.
  • My current track vehicle is 1985 Porsche 911.
